Comments & Conclusions
This test sample, Smart Burn - Hoodia 0143C6 EXP 03/09 is consistent with the microscopic characteristics of the reference samples of Hoodia gordonii used above and is characteristic of a blend containing a low amount of Hoodia gordonii whole plant / less roots.
Conclusion: Chromatographic profile #2 test sample - is not consistent with fingerprint #1 - voucher specimen. Analyte P57 which is used as the marker compound to assess identity and quality of Hoodia gordonii can not be detected. Hoodia gordonii herb could be present in trace amounts in the formulation and not be detectable by hplc analysis due to its very low level compared to the overall formulation composition. |
